Halloween Trunk or Treating!

Here are my silly kids in their costumes before the festivities.

They played "Ghost, Ghost, Pumpkin" while waiting for others to arrive. I loved Allyson's 80's look! I used to wear a side ponytail:)

Matthew's 2nd Birthday!

Matthew has been such a sweet addition to our family these last 2 years. He is the happiest guy waking up ever and these days, we often hear him talking and singing to himself in the mornings. He is so cute! Check out the videos at the bottom for proof:) We started off the day by making Matthew's favorite breakfast of pancakes!

This kids just LOVES anything with wheels. He loves eating out of and playing with his Speed Racer bowl.

I made a similar pair for Jacob so here are Matthew's. He loves having a pair of his own!

My mom sent presents for Jacob and Matthew since their birthdays are so close together. Here they are opening them.

Here was my attempt at a truck cake. I thought it turned out OK considering that I didn't have as much time as I wanted to put it all together.

Matthew digs in. He loves cake!

He loves it so much that he reached over to taste Benjamin's:)

Benjamin enjoy the birthday dessert

Jacob enjoys the ice cream

Mmmmm...let me lick all of that off!

Matthew's present was kind of bulky so we just hid it under his blanky.

He pulled it off and over onto himself...it was so funny:)

But he LOVES this toy. There are numbers and shapes and songs and he is all about that. I can't believe that he can say his ABC's and count to 10 already and he is starting to learn his colors. Happy Day for Matthew!

One of my favorite things about Matthew...his Pillsbury Dough Boy giggle:)

Jacob's 4th Birthday!

My sweet Jacob turned 4 today! For those of you that might not know the story of how Jacob came into this world, here's my stroll down memory lane. For the last few weeks leading up to the due date, Jacob had been in the right position but at the last minute, he flipped upside down and was breach. They don't deliver breach babies and insist on doing C-sections so I was immediately nervous. After a blessing from my husband, I knew that things would somehow work out and that I would at least have a healthy baby boy no matter what. The doctor suggested a procedure called an external version. They gave me an epidural and two doctors placed their hands on my stomach, one at the top, one at the bottom and pushed Jacob around into the right position. They were giving me a 50 percent chance of it working and would only try twice before carting me off for a C-section but it worked! The nurses were amazed and about 4 hours later Jacob entered the world!

Jacob LOVES cupcakes (he asks me to make them at least twice a week and I have caught him putting random things into the microwave only to have him tell me that he was only making cupcakes:)

Matthew saw me taking the beaters off after I made the frosting and immediately reached for them. He knows what the good stuff is!

These are the race car slippers that I made for Jacob. I plan on making a pair of these for each of their upcoming birthdays. Matthew actually inspired me to do these when he stole the bottom of another pair of slippers that I was making and started racing them around on the floor like a car. I had a Eureka! moment and I thought they turned out really well.
