Random Fun Photos!

Evan has such a crazy brain! He told us this was his cheese octopus from his nachos at supper one night!

Matthew has discovered the sandbox in the backyard and loves it! He just loves having a backyard in general and exploring it.

Evan and I went to Walmart last weekend and just when I thought we were done shopping, we walked by the boys clothing section. Before I could see what he was seeing, Evan flipped out "Mom, it's MarioKart! It's a shirt!" MarioKart has been their favorite game since Benjamin got it for his birthday and so when he saw these, he was going to pass out if we didn't get one for him and one for Benjamin. At least he didn't think only of himself:) So we got them and Benjamin was so excited. It was a good thing that the weather was unusually warm the next day because they would have still worn them if it had been 20 degrees. My cute little men!

Evan sporting his cool new sunglasses. They are blue, his favorite color. He loves blue so much that he will only eat on his blue plate at meals. I don't know what he will do at school when there are no blue lunch trays!

So much for the first day of spring.....

This is what we woke up to on the first official day of spring! Man, this has been a long winter! It melted off early and we still went to Rita's for our free Italian ices even though it was chilly. The kids had a delicious time (or Jacob says "Deee-wishus!").

St. Patrick's Day

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by making green chocolate chip cookies for the kids. They thought it was pretty cool:) We read a book that Benjamin had gotten from school on the history of the day and Evan became very concerned to the point of tears afterwards that he was going to have to be Irish and wear green all the time because blue is his favorite color. Silly kid!

Evan's First Comic Book

Evan's friend gave him a comic book that he had made last week so Evan decided that he needed to make one too. The first part of this is based on a dream that Evan says that he had. Quite often, this is how he tells stories to me. I am not sure that you will be able to see everything very clearly with the scan but you will get the picture. You can click on each one to see it bigger.

Jacob's Funnies

Ben got an email from Jacob's Primary teacher at chuch yesterday. This was so funny that we had to share:)

"During a discussion of plants and vegetables yesterday, I asked your children what vegetable do french fries come from. The unanimous answer: McDonalds. Certainly an answer I didn't expect."

And here's a recent conversation that I had with my kids that made me laugh:

Mom: Excusez-moi!
Evan: That's not a real word!
Mom: Yes, it is! It's French for "Excuse me." Jacob, can you say excusez-moi?
Jacob: Excuse me moi!

Belated Valentine's Day and a Few Random Photos

Matthew falls asleep in some of the funniest ways and strangest places some times.

Benjamin is growing up and has been experimenting with a new hair style. What do you think of his "spiky hair"?

Evan and Jacob hugging before Evan going to school.

Jacob's standard funny face

Benjamin and Evan got some good loot for Valentine's Day from school. I did not get the memo that it was the new Halloween.

Benjamin made this cute little porcelain cupcake bowl in art at school.

Ans this was the super huge Valentine that he made for Ben and I.

These are the Valentine's that we passed out with our Valentine fortune cookies.

Moving and the New House

So it's taken me a bit to get these up and we are still unpacking a bit but people have asked so here are some pictures of the move and our new place. It's still not organized but gives you an idea. Enjoy the tour!

Here's the moving truck from outside the window at our old place. Impressive! We had about 18 guys from church come and load our old place and unpack it at the new place in all of 2 1/2 hours. We could never thank them enough, but here's a big THANK YOU!

Jacob always liked to think that he was "helping." We are using the term very loosely:)

Our new house!

Here's the view from the backyard.

Evan and Jacob had a most fabulous time with the box for about half of the day. Cheap entertainment! Now that's what mom likes!

Evan's favorite feature of the house-the deck and yard. He would play out there all day and night. He loves it!

BIG snow day! Here are Benjamin and Evan wading through the snow. I think we ended up with about 7-8 inches.

Poor Jacob just sat down and gave up. Then he started making snow angels because that was about as far as he could move:)

Jacob, Evan and Benjamin geared up to play in the snow.

This was the second or third night at the house and such a cute, snuggly moment with daddy.

Front room view of the windows-we are debating what we want to do with these as far as curtains go but like the light the open windows bring in.

Couch and TV watching space

Our couch and the shape of the living room and the placement of the windows limits the places we could put the couch in conjunction with the entertainment center. So we placed it here where it divides the room. So we have the TV watching and lounging area and behind it we have bookshelves and want to make that a cozy reading area.

Kitchen! This is the biggest kitchen we have ever had so we were super excited! We both love to cook.

More of the backyard and deck. We can't wait for it to warm up to really enjoy this space.

Matthew on the new stairs-the one and only flight of stairs in the whole place! Our other place had stairs everywhere so this will be a nice change.

Such a cutie with his blankie!
