Matthew and His Doodleboard

I had to document this. I don't like to brag about my kids but I was pretty blown away by this. Matthew, my youngest who just turned 3 at the beginning of October, has always loved the alphabet and his numbers. In fact, it is one of those things that he will recite to comfort himself. Matthew was diagnosed with autism this past summer and I have a hard time communicating with him sometimes. Maybe not for long! I think after seeing this, maybe he can start writing me what he wants on his doodleboard. I love how he can draw from any angle around the board and still get it right. I will put a disclaimer out there: I have not worked with him or pushed him on any of this. I hate those commercials about teaching your baby to read. This is just his thing and he does this several times daily. In the top picture, he has written 1 2 3.

Makes me want to cry. Can't wait to see if he picks, Harvard, Yale or BYU! Keep up the good work nurturing and teaching him and he will keep amazing us with what is inside that head of his.

That's amazing! So excited for you to watch this and for him to find a way to get those thoughts out!

I really am speechless after seeing all of this! Madelynn doesn't know how to write any numbers or letters. What a smart little guy. I really am so amazed at how well he knows his numbers. I mean really, even Owen has a hard time trying remember how to write "16"!
You just need a mini magna-doodle to bring to church!
